The Midheaven
Ever wonder why people perceive you one way online but differently in real life? That’s your Midheaven (MC) in action! The Midheaven is the angle of your chart that governs public reputation, career, and your online presence.
Whenever you’re tweeting, posting, uploading, you’re doing it through your MC.
You could be the sweetest, most nurturing person in real life—let’s say you’re a Cancer rising with a Taurus Moon—but if your Midheaven is in Aries, people online are going to experience you as bold, assertive, flashy, maybe even aggressive. That’s just how the energy translates.
When you're scrolling through your feed and you come across a post you think "Wow I love her, she's so intelligent! Definitely want to follow this page and get more of this content" or maybe "Oh wow what a head, they don't know what they're talking about at all! I hope they stub their toe right after they stumble out of bed in the morning."
You can make both decisions about that person's entire persona with one post- and THAT is the MC in action. It's the angle where the public- people who don't know you, may never have spoken to you, only see what's in the public space - are able to look at a piece of you and put energy and opinions into it.
Instead of working against it, use it to your advantage when curating your online space.
Your Branding Should Align With Your MC
Your logo, profile pic, cover photo, brand name—anything people see first—should reflect your MC energy. This is the vibe people pick up on before they ever interact with you. If YOU are your brand, your Sun sign should be part of the mix too. And if your business or content is aesthetic-focused? Factor in Venus.
I personally have a 5 planet Virgo stellium, but a Libra MC and I try and blend the two into my work and especially my branding.
Example:
Let’s say you’re a lash tech with a Pisces MC—your branding should feel dreamy, ethereal, artistic. Think soft blues and greens, big glossy “fish eyes” with long lashes, a flowy font.
Now let’s add the rest of your chart: You’ve got a Libra Sun and Libra rising so your content should be aesthetic, flattering, romantic. Show off your clients in soft, glowy lighting, add sparkles or floral accents, hype them up in the captions, put hearts on their cheekbones. Show yourself looking gorgeous too! People are going to associate you with the services and see you as the face of your brand.
Your Midheaven is one of the four angles of your birth chart, along with the Ascendant (AC), Descendant (DC), and Imum Coeli (IC). These four form the backbone of your chart—they literally set the stage for where the houses land and how the rest of your placements get to express themselves. These angles of your chart act as filters, shaping both how you see the world and how the world sees you. Your AC is how you present yourself to the world, your DC is how you connect with others, your IC is your private foundation and ancestral roots, and your MC is how the world knows you and what you leave behind as an ancestor. You can’t fully understand how to best build your brand, or yourself, without seeing how these angles work together.
