No Magical Finish Line

(Originally posted Feb 15th 2025)

Idk who needs to hear this but here is no magical finish line!!! Please stop waiting for some perfect moment where everything suddenly clicks into place and stays that way forever. We tend to build up milestones in our minds, convincing ourselves that once we achieve them, we’ll finally feel worthy, finally feel secure, finally be enough.

But that’s an illusion. The truth is if we don’t address the deeper wounds that keeps us chasing more, we don’t actually arrive.

We hit the mark, find ourselves still holding the deep pit in our stomach and weight on our chest and just move the goalpost. Keep running, pushing, exhausted and unfulfilled.

Imposter syndrome thrives in the space between external success and internal doubt. If we don’t acknowledge and work through our insecurities, no amount of achievements will ever make us feel at home in our own skin. The discomfort doesn’t disappear just because we checked a box or hit some number if we never did the inner work to believe we deserved it in the first place.

Things don’t change overnight. They shift in the small, mundane and unglamorous moments. When we have enough insight to understand where things are popping up from instead of reacting to them unconsciously, when we challenge a self-limiting belief, when we refuse to let fear make our decisions, when we release another layer of pain we’ve carried for too long.

Every bit of healing is like cutting away a sandbag that’s been holding us down. Little by little, we rise. It’s slow. It’s uncomfortable. But it’s real.

Do the work, even when it feels pointless. Do it when it's messy. Do it when no one is watching. Just remember there's no finish line, it’s a lifelong commitment. And the longer we avoid it, the longer we keep ourselves stuck in cycles of sabotage. Don’t let another week slip by waiting for some external permission to be free. Start today in little moments.
