The External Stimuli of Transits and the Power of Knowledge
(Originally posted Feb 28th)
People respond to cues and stimuli every day, often without even realizing it. A ringtone goes off, we answer the call, a traffic light turns green, we move forward. These external signals guide our actions, helping us navigate life moment by moment.
But what happens when we don’t have a clear signal telling us what to do next? Without confidence and self-worth, it can feel impossible to take initiative or make independent choices. Some people struggle to even envision a future for themselves because their present reality is so painful. I know I never thought I'd make it to see 20, let alone 30 and beyond.
The lack of inner direction can lead to a cycle of waiting. Waiting for validation, waiting for permission, waiting for someone else to make the decisions for them.
This kind of stagnation is more than just procrastination, it’s a form of dependence. When we don’t trust ourselves to move forward, we start looking to others: lovers, family, friends, society, to dictate our next steps to us. But this kind of reliance can keep us trapped, making choices based on what others would do in our place rather than what feels aligned to our true path. Or worse, what benefits THEM rather than us.
Life starts to feel like it’s happening to us rather than something we actively participate in. Over time, this waiting game and lack of autonomy can erode our sense of purpose, leaving us feeling stuck, uninspired, and directionless.
Thankfully, we are never truly without guidance. Even when life feels uncertain, the universe is constantly providing exterior stimulus and direction through the movements of the planets. Transits to our natal chart act as a call to action, encouraging us to grow, shift, and evolve.
Of course, not all transits feel the same! Some are benefic, bringing easy opportunities and abundance, while others are malefic, challenging us to confront harsh realities via tension. Some are thrilling and full of momentum, while others slow us down, forcing us to sit with discomfort. Both benefic and malefic transits carry their share of opportunities and traps, and it's our response to them that shapes the trajectory of our lives.
When the energy of a transit arrives, we have a choice: do we rise and respond, or do we ignore it and allow life to pile more weight onto our shoulders? Do we take action with integrity, aligning with the best version of ourselves, or do we react impulsively and create chaos that we’ll have to untangle in future cycles? Every decision we make as we engage with the pivotal transits in our lives ripples outward. Transits don’t dictate our fate but rather present us with crossroads. Whether we take the high road, the long road, the detour, or the dead end is ultimately up to us.
To truly work with transits, we must first understand our own natal chart. This is our foundation and it tells us where we are naturally gifted, where we struggle, and what patterns we are likely to repeat until the true strength is unlocked through mastery.
Without this knowledge, transits can feel random, like life is just happening to us. But when we understand the map to our soul, we start to see the deeper narrative at play.. When we understand the map to our soul, we can see the deeper narrative at play. We recognize the cycles, the lessons, and the recurring themes that the universe is urging us to engage with.
The universe is always speaking! It’s up to us to listen and respond.
